Office-Based Surgery
Your consultation with Dr. Forley will be held in his private office located in an architecturally distinguished townhouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, just one block away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The elegant surroundings and warm atmosphere you encounter upon entering the office will enhance your visit. A thorough evaluation and examination will be performed during your consultation. You will have the opportunity to see examples of Dr. Forley’s work and ask questions. Dr. Forley will listen and respond to your desires and concerns and make sure that you understand completely the entire procedure you are considering before you leave the office. Dr. Forley also utilizes Telemedicine as an option for an initial virtual consultation or a followup visit.
In accordance with the highest standards for patient care and safety, Dr. Forley’s office-based ambulatory surgical suite is accredited by the Joint Commission. “The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that evaluates and accredits more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. It is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.” Performing surgery within the office setting enables increased patient comfort, privacy, and personalized attention.

Dr. Forley performs all surgeries himself in their entirety. Minimally invasive and minor surgical procedures can be carried out under local anesthesia. The Pro-Nox System is also available to help ease any discomfort or anxiety during your procedure with a self-administered combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide gases for analgesia. When it is advisable for you to be asleep for your procedure, Dr. Forley exclusively uses twilight anesthesia that is administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist with medications given through the vein and does not involve placement of a breathing tube or mask over your face. The medications are rapidly metabolized by your body allowing for a speedy recovery with minimal side effects and discharge from the office after a period of careful monitoring by Dr. Forley and his nursing staff. If a surgical procedure requires general anesthesia, then it is performed at one of the hospitals Dr. Forley is affiliated with in New York City.
